The anatomy of a bed

For nobody is a secret that our bedroom is our sanctuary. The place where we feel safe and relax. The place where we just want to unwind and be ourselves. The main piece that makes this possible is our bed. I would say that often we take this element for granted because we don’t give proper attention that it needs to have in order to make not only the space magical but create that great feeling of peace and calm when we lay down.

The bed gives us structure. It must be in order, clean, properly taking care of. Do you remember that success phrase that says: “make your bed every morning before you start your day?”. That phrase exists for a reason. Sleep is the base our main recovery process for us to continue our labor daily. Investing in our quality sleeping process from our routine habits to the way we set up and maintain our bed will guarantee an increase in happiness, better performance, improved health and happy relationships. In overall, a better quality of life.

Create awareness about the importance of how to set up our bed is my main focal point. Give you the information and the tools you need so you can create the style you always dreamed of. Let’s start understanding the anatomy of a bed. We have different sizes according to the needs and space available: Twin, Full, Queen, King and California King. The quality of the mattress is something you need to invest in. I recommend to use first a Mattress pad cover to protect it. Then we start to prepare the bed.

The first step is to place the fitted sheets. Make sure to find the sheets that give you the most luxurious experience and quality of sleep. We continue with the flat sheets. Lay your flat sheet on top of your fitted sheet with the finished side (the pretty side) face-down. This may sound odd, but it will add a picture-perfect layered look at the end. Then comes the funniest part which is to create the look for the bed. The weather is a key factor and if you’re a hot or cold sleeper you need to decide what’s the best option for you to place the right bedding set.

Once you lay your flat sheets, add a quilt as a first layer of covering. I like to incorporate texture, color, and a cloud feeling with a duvet insert and a duvet cover. This last step gives the hotel look and vibe. To complete the bedding set add a blanket or a coverlet on top folded at the end of the bed. Then as a last step top off your beautiful bedding with some stylish finishing touches with pillows, shams and euro shams. You decide the style. It’s all about what brings you joy and what makes you happy.

There you go! You have a hotel beautiful bed now.
