Styling your Bedroom

When we mention the word bedroom, the first thing that comes to mind is the hotel experience, joined with comfort, light, and peace. The bedroom is a sanctuary where we recover and recharge energy to prepare for the next day. Consider these few tips to get the best of the space and create your dream room.

Start with your vision in mind.

Nowadays, it's easy to get lost in all the trends, color palettes, and different furniture choices. The best way to protect your budget and curate the pieces you need is to create an overall moodboard of how you want this room to feel. Start thinking about the emotions you want to evoke. You may wish to have tons of light in this space to make it feel airy, soft, and warm, or you might be interested in a more grounded, serene, and zen space. These ideas will be the center of all your decisions.

Determine a budget.

Let's be realistic; you need to have a budget to start investing in the pieces that have more weight in financial terms and the ones that will be long-term investments. Finishes 40%, furniture 35%, lightning 15% and accents 10%. In the primary bedroom, you want to pay special attention to the main piece that draws most of the attention: the bed.

Piece selection.

Once you have determined the direction you want to go, we want to start focusing on sourcing. Select brands that support the style of your moodboard and respect the budget you are managing. Create contrast with nightstands, which can be made with different materials or evoke asymmetry with these pieces but keep them connected through color, texture, or materials. The rug helps to ground the furniture elements, adding softness under our feet, making it feel comfy.

Consider a lovely lounge or seating area if the space and budget allow it. A nice bench, ottoman, or accent chair are great options. Then complete with decor: table lamps, floor lamps, floral arrangements, mirrors, or artwork.

Always remember to keep balance and harmony with your selections.

Aromas.

Incorporate a lovely essence in the room. This detail invites relaxation, calm, and peace. It can be your favorite smell; there are many choices: cinnamon, vanilla, eucalyptus, flowers essence, chocolate, and so many more. The presentation can be a candle, a diffuser, or smelly items.

Bedding set.

The bedding set is one of the most essential elements to style your bedroom. Select nice sheets that support an excellent night's sleep and add a pleasing look to the eye, complementing your overall concept. Add volume with a duvet cover and comforter. Coverlets and blankets are optional. However, I highly suggest them. Make sure the fabrics of the bedding set are the right fit for the season, keeping you at the right temperature while you sleep.

There you go! Style your bedroom in five simple steps.
